CULTURE OF JHARKHAND Culture of Jharkhand  refers to the culture of  Indian state  of  Jharkhand , located in  East India  and surrounded by states of  Bihar ,   West Bengal ,  Uttar Pradesh ,  Chhatisgarh , and  Odisha . The culture of Jharkhand is diverse in terms of languages spoken, ethnic groups, traditions and festivals. FOOD : The staple foods in Jharkhand are rice, dal, vegetables and tubers. Some dishes include Chirka roti, Pittha, Malpua, Dhuska, Arsa roti, and Litti Chokha. Rugra, a type of mushroom, and bamboo shoots are also used as vegetables. The leaf of Munga tree(Moringa oleifera) and Koinar tree(Bauhinia variegata) are used as leafy vegetable or Saag. INDIAN TRIBAL CULTURE - Languages The vast diversity of India is marked by the various languages and dialects prevalent in the country. Apart from the regional languages spoken in different parts, there are a number of languages that are unique to the tribes of India. Some of the leading tribal language-speaking groups comprise: Garo tribes , Chakma tribes , Naga tribes , Gond tribes , Mizo tribes , Munda tribes , Santhali tribes, Khasia tribes , Oraon tribes , the tribe of Manipur and many more. The tribal languages spoken by the tribes are broadly classified into four categories which are: Indo-Aryan, Dravidian, Tibeto-Burman, and Austro-Asiatic. DANCE As culture varies from place to place in northern states,   so as the dance forms.   When we think of dance forms in northern states we   get enthusiastic and energetic with the power exhausting moves. No matter how simple the dance form is it definitely holds a cultural significance. Now let us look at some folk dance forms. PUNJAB The term BHANGRA comes from word BAGGA which is a martial dance of Punjab. It refers to the traditional dance originating from the Indian subcontinent and emerged from the MAHJA region in Punjab. It is generally only for males.
